Week 20

Dun Dun DUUUUUUUUUUUUUN. Week (im not sure).

This week was slow again. It is ok though. My companion and I make walking down the street fun, even if nobody want's to talk to us. This week went to like 1 of the 3 Burger Kings in our mission. It was delicious, especially the Melva Pudding .It is quite nice.

It was funny this week. We were in Middleburg trying to find referrals we received and finding places in township is hard, no street names and most houses don't have any identification. So we asked a man if he knew where the houses were. Without telling us he just gets in the car and directs us, after awhile we found the house. The funny part is before we even get out of the car he is opening their door and just walking in, he didn't even know them! South Africans always give me a good laugh, they're friendly.
So transfers are tomorrow. I thought I would be leaving but I guess I'm still in Witbank. The one elder from our district we thought would stay is the only one in the district leaving ,haha. Today we had a zone activity in Pretoria, we had a zone vs zone basketball, rugby, and soccer game. It was a long, tiring, but fun day today. Another reason I'm emailing so late is when we finally got back to Witbank, the power was off for like 2 hours as usual. So we had to wait for the power to come back on. Oh yeah. So on Sunday the whole branch presidency was not at church. So the Stake President rushed to our branch to preside. The Hawkins, me and my companion and strong ward members bore our testimonies to fill up the meeting since it was not planned. I was able to bear testimony about sacrifice, especially after watching Ephraim's rescue. What a good movie! It is amazing how much Latter-Day Saints sacrificed just to go to Zion. Well that was another week in the life of a missionary.
 Love you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SUP Dudes! Building those bridges for homeschool looked fun! That is cool about meeting that missionary couple, its weird the different languages we have in common areas like California. This week hasn't been eventful either in South Africa, Witbank. We only had about 5 lessons last week, 10 this week. We did a lot of contacting and tracting, no new investigators yet, everyone we have met haven't been interested. So it has been boring here haha, but its alright my legs are getting a good workout. My ankle aches all the time though, I think I messed it up again playing soccer. Its a good relief from stressful weeks to play soccer all day on Mondays. I finished the book of Mosiah this week in my studies. If only the Presidential Candidates were Alma or King Benjamin, then our country would begin to become better. King Benjamin and King Mosiah taught their people righteousness while they served their people as a leader. Well that is what is new with me, Love You guys! Miss ya!

The zoo looks like it was fun. Yeah there are alot of snakes here, Cobras, Death or Night Adders and a bunch other that are always at houses we visit. Hey, Chelsey is getting good at harp if she is passing with straight A's! My new Companion is awesome, we have a lot of fun even though the work in Witbank is slow, only 5 lessons this week. He is from Lady Smith KZN. We are pretty similar its nice.  ).  I did get my package! I can say it was DELICIOUS, because it was mostly my favorite snacks :). Thank you for everything! My companion was saying, "man Americans love sugar!" I said that's why were mostly all white haha. I enjoyed all the pictures and letters from I think Primary kids? Anyways to answer the question they all had, No I do not wear a skirt, Do I wish I was, Yes. haha This week was mostly quiet, even more than last week. So there isn't much to talk about really. Adios! Love you all!

Mothers Day Skype 5/8/2016

Yeah, yesterday it was great to talk to you all face to face. Regardless of the terrible connection :/ I still don't think I have an accent though :). Tomorrow I get a new companion. He is a cool guy ! This week we had a family we are teaching unexpectedly show up to church, it was very neat! He started as a referral for a bible and now he is coming to church. He definitely has had a change of heart. As of right now while i'm emailing me and another Elder are each eating a share box from McDonald's. It has 2 quarter pounders, 2 cheeseburgers, 4 fries, 4 small drinks, and 10 chicken nuggets. Only for 150 rands or $10. Pretty cheap and it fills you up haha we bought 3 of them for the 6 of us in our district so thats what I'm doing while emailing right now.
We have a tough lady in our branch, she had a stroke one day the next day we gave her a blessing and the next day she is back home and made us lunch. She is one tough cookie to break. My ankle has been aching lately.I think I'm playing too much soccer and rugby, but at least i'm getting my exercise haha. This Friday we had a Zone meeting and after we went to a buffet to eat. One of the Elders thought wasabi was a sauce for salad and he LOADED it on. He was dying and could not figure out what was so hot and spicy. It was hilarious. Not much has happened teaching wise this week. Most appointments have cancelled and we were not able to see them sadly. Well.... Maybe next week i'll have more to talk about haha, nothing happened thats worth mentioning. So, Happy Mother's Day Mom!!!!!! Love you all!
Stay safe.

This week has been alright, its getting a little bit better. I was able to spend time with some other elders selected to go to Botswana. While we were doing fingerprints at the police station, we borrowed a pen from the police officers and one of the elders said your taking their pen. " I said stealing in a police station, thats probably not good haha". Some members invited us over to have a birthday dinner with President and Sister Wilson. It was a nice experience, it helped me feel a little better haha. Before we went there, we had a lesson with an investigator and his less active family. After the lesson, we gave blessings to 3 of their children and one of their friends they invited over. It was a very neat experience, even to see a 15 year old investigator young man to ask for a blessing. The weather here is hot one day and cold one day.Its annoying ,haha. Yesterday Elder Cook and Sister Cook visited our ward and spoke to us about keeping the Gospel Simple, it doesn't matter about big wards, fancy church buildings, nice suits or anything. It only matters on the pure principles of the Gospel Faith, Repentance, Baptism, The gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring or Enjoying to the End. It was nice. After we took them to where we had a birthday dinner and had lunch with them. So I can say I ate lunch with one of the Quorum of the Seventy haha.

Anyways ill send a little more later were cutting email a little short this morning to go play some soccer and get our butts kicked by the Youth from Kwa Guqa!
Love you all!
